In the Footsteps of King Ravana

Day 1: Negombo - Nuwara Eliya - Sita Amman Temple

• Journey to Nuwara Eliya – travel from the coast into the green mountains of central Sri Lanka.

Day 6: Anuradhapura – The Mysterious Stargate

Day 7: Ritigala – Hanuman's Legendary Mountain

• The Mountain of Healing Herbs – according to the Ramayana tradition, Hanuman was sent to the Himalayas to find medicinal herbs needed to save Lakshmana, who had been seriously wounded in the battle with Ravana.
• A Fragment of the Mountain – when Hanuman could not identify the correct herbs, he carried the entire mountain. According to Sri Lankan legend, a piece of it fell at Ritigala while he was flying over Lanka.
• The Land of Healing Plants – the legend explains why Ritigala is traditionally associated with medicinal plants and ancient healing knowledge.
