Loris watching
Lorises are nocturnal and arboreal. They are found in the tropical and subtropical forests of India, Sri Lanka and parts of Southeast Asia. Some slow lorises are almost exclusively insectivorous, while others also include fruits, gums, leaves and snails in their diet. These creatures are known for their slow, deliberate movements and large eyes.
The lush nature of Sri Lanka is the best place to observe these elusive animals, which are critically endangered due to habitat loss and the illegal pet trade.
Observing these animals in the ruins of ancient Polonnaruwa is a wonderful experience.
